Kilgore, Texas resident Casey Fields is one dedicated dad. Earlier this year, Fields posed alongside his 1-year-old daughter, Lyla, in a pink tutu during a photo session with Jenn Floyd Photography.
Given that it’s rare to see a self-described “manly-man” dressed in a tutu with his daughter, the photos have spread across the internet like wildfire.

The shoot first blew up on Facebook where the photos received over 50,000 shares after photographer Jenn Floyd uploaded them to her photography page. Floyd offered to do the project for free, according to Good Morning America, in order to build up her portfolio, which fans can find on her website. And it seems like that was the right decision given that Floyd’s photos seemed to have resonated with families across the globe, with some commenting that they could see their own fathers posing for similar photos. Meanwhile, news outlets like The Daily Mail and Good Morning America were also quick to pick up the story.
“It blew up within two days,” Fields told Good Morning America back in January. “I’ll do anything for my daughter. It’s crazy how fast she has grown. She’s just a funny child and I love her to death.”

The photoshoot is perhaps even more striking since Fields, who is shirtless in the photos, wears a big beard and is covered in tattoos. But despite what some might consider a typically masculine exterior, Fields made it clear that he was happy to be a bit silly and step outside of his comfort zone for his daughter. In the photos, Fields wears a tutu, a baseball cap, and little else while his 1-year-old daughter sports the same pink tutu along with an adorable pink headband.
Floyd photographed the pair in a variety of different seemingly candid poses. In one series, for example, Floyd and Lyla take turns coloring on the floor. And in another series of shots, Floyd paints his daughter’s nails while she stands on a white ladder covered in flowers. Suffice it to say that there’s a whole lot of pink.
“I’m kind of a manly man but it’s for my daughter,” Fields a sales representative, told GMA. “When she gets older it can be something we can laugh at and I can use it as blackmail to embarrass her or something.”
When Mom.com caught up with Floyd and asked whether she wanted the images to convey a particular message, the photographer gave a straightforward but altogether meaningful answer.
“Sometimes the best thing a parent can do for their child is to connect with them, on their level,” Floyd told Mom.com.
“Casey thought it would be funny and I thought it would be precious,” Floyd continued. “I think we were both correct. You’re never too old to make someone smile.”
