Queensland, Australia: A suspiciously-moving microwave oven led an Australian woman to call snake catchers when she discovered a pair of mating pythons behind it on her kitchen counter.
Stuart McKenzie, of the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers, responded to the house in Buderim and found two tangled-up pythons making love.
A video posted by the animal control agency on Facebook shows McKenzie investigating the complaint of the elderly woman, who was apparently under the impression that only one snake was involved
“We get a lot of pythons at homes in Buderim but as you can see, this is pretty much the last place you’d expect [the snakes to be],” the professional snake catcher can be heard saying.

“There’s actually two pythons…Looks like a male and a female snuggling behind the microwave,” McKenzie says.
He theorised that the snakes likely snuck in through a window left open just behind the microwave for a little “hanky panky” after basking in the sun for a while.
After a brief interruption in the sexual activity, the reptile expert put the snakes in a bag without separating them and eventually released them in the wild.
Summer or winter, snakes keep coming
Earlier this year, four massive carpet pythons took over another Sunshine Coast house looking to mate. The homeowner reported a total of six snakes over a fortnight, according to rescue service.
“It’s not very often this happens but during the breeding season, we regularly get called out for multiple snakes at one home,” the Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers said.
