From the brink of death, a stray dog has been rescued, once again, healthy, happy and with faith in humans.
On a sunny day, a non-profit animal protection charity in Greece received a call in Attica, reporting on the sorry situation of a lost stray dog. Immediately, a rescue team called Shelter went to the right place and helped him. (source: Sina).
When he was found, the poor dog was almost “turned to stone”, his coat had fallen almost completely, suffering from various skin, bone, stomach diseases and severe malnutrition. (source: Sina).
According to calculations, this unlucky dog is around 5 years old and has been hungry for a long time. His skin was stuck to the bones, which made the ribs stand out terrifyingly. (source: Sina).
When humans and other animals tried to get closer, he would get scared and try to run away. (source: Sina).
It was very difficult to get this dog to accept human care, as she seemed to have completely lost trust in humanity. (source: Sina).
Finally, with patience and love, rescuers managed to get close to her, helping her bathe, applying medication and improving her skin condition. (source: Sina).
After that, the dog was named Petra, which means “stone” in Greek, since when it was found, Petra was almost turned into “stone” with her fur stuck and tangled. (source: Sina).
After nearly four months of love and care, Petra has made an almost full recovery. During his recovery process, he has also learned to trust humans again. (source: Sina).
Now, Petra lives happily and contentedly with her fully grown fur. (source: Sina).
