There are many different varieties of cactus, so it may be challenging to choose the ideal one for your specific needs and interests.
Cacti, which are indigenous to the deserts and arid regions of the Americas, are succulents at their core – composed of a water-retaining body and vestigial leaves (spines) emerging from growth points called areoles. They do not photosynthesize (unlike the green body of the plant) and have developed these spines to deter thirsty predators.
Cacti are incredible. Consider attempting to create an item that keeps moisture despite dry circumstances, can survive temperatures as high as 100 degrees F and as low as freezing, and does not disintegrate when exposed to UV light. What material would it be composed of?
Which is better: glass, plastic, metal, or wood? None of them stand a chance. Consider how this desert thing develops and reproduces!
Cacti are mƴ favorite succulents to shoot. Flowers are large and colorful, and plant forms are interesting. When lighted, spines make patterns and sparkle. Because “cactus” needs a kinder term, I devised “halo plants”
