Oscar Lundahl, a 19-year-old resident of Norway, caught an alien-like fish while fishing.
A student from Norway went fishing and was extremely shocked when he realized that he had caught a “monster” with big eyes.
It was with great effort that the student managed to hold on to the fishing rod and not fall off the boat.
The fish turned out to belong to the species Chimaeras Monstrosa Linnaeus. According to experts, this fish is genetically similar to sharks, and the age of this species is about 300 million years. This fish lives at a depth of more than a kilometer and seldom rises to the surface. The student managed to catch it at a depth of about 2700 feet.
This species is called the European Chimera. In winter it rises to the surface and can be found in the Atlantic and the Barents Sea. This creature can reach 5 feet and experts consider this species to be endangered. Sadly, the fish died due to the pressure drop and the student claimed that the fish tasted very well.
