When November started, a South Texas neighborhood couple discovered a stray dog wandering around the area. The pup was in a terrible condition, with severe malnutrition and mange that had ravaged its skin. The couple made attempts to lure the dog to their care, but it was too scared to be caught. They named the canine Ana and continued trying to help her. Fortunately, after a week of trying, they finally got help for Ana. She was taken to the vet immediately for medical attention. Despite her poor state, the rescuers were able to determine that Ana was only about one or two years old. With her chance of survival low, even the founder of Rescue Dogs Rock NYC, Stacey Silverstein, didn’t have high hopes for Ana.
The Rescue Dogs Rock NYC representative shared that the girl they rescued was in a dire situation. She was extremely thin, suffering from infections in her skin and eyes, and her spirit appeared to be very low.
According to Leslie Ysuhuaylas, a volunteer based in Texas, the poor dog had severe mange and her skin was in a bad state. It was difficult to determine her breed and learn anything about her except that she had suffered from neglect for some time. Consequently, Ana was incredibly shy and hesitant due to the harsh conditions she lived through.
Despite facing difficult circumstances and a grim outlook, Ana fought for her life with determination and resilience, ultimately proving any skeptics wrong. She overcame her struggles and displayed a remarkable bounce-back, as if nothing had ever happened. With proper care and attention from her caregivers, Ana left behind the days of mistreatment and disregard from humans, quickly moving forward into a happier and healthier life.
According to Ana’s adoption page, she has undergone a medical treatment and received lots of love and care from her foster, resulting in significant improvement in her health and appearance. Her fur has grown back fully, and she has turned into a cheerful and lively pup!
