Will remember the courageous little dog’s heroic deed for the rest of her life

A Heroic Sacrifice: A Dog Gives His Life to Save People, a Noble Act

Spike, a 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, gave his life to save the life of his beloved human at the end of May.

Spike did not hesitate to defend his favorite human when a venomous cobra came in the backyard , despite the danger, which unfortunately lost the courageous canine his life only thirty minutes later.

When the snake landed on Louise Grobler’s property, she was there to defend its owner. The dog-lover was so preoccupied with her talk that she didn’t notice the reptile approaching her. Spike, fortunately, leapt in and bit the snake, killing it instantly.

Unfortunately, one of the cobra’s venomous teeth punctured the canine during the operation, and there was nothing that could be done to save him.

“Spike was a hero because he saved my life by fighting the venomous snake. I was so near to the snake that I’m very sure it could have bitten me if Spike hadn’t leaped up and grabbed it by the neck. As soon as I understood what was going on, I hurried next door to fetch my neighbor’s aid, but by the time I returned, Spike had already killed the cobra.” The horrible episode was described by Louise.

Tragic events struck the family again not long after Spike’s death. Their second family dog, Prinses, was also bitten by a snake and perished as a consequence. After her former family appeared to have abandoned her, the tiny puppy had been adopted a few months previously.

“She was only scheduled to remain with us for two weeks, but we were too attached to her to let her leave. She gave birth to four puppies, which we delivered to a dog refuge. The next day, my family and I buried the dogs in separate but nearby graves in our front garden. When we buried them, Mariska (her daughter) sobbed so fiercely that I sobbed with her.” Louise explains

Spike and Prinses will never be forgotten by their loved ones, and Louise will remember the courageous little dog’s heroic deed for the rest of her life.
