I just want people to keep in mind that any time you see infrared images, whatever color you are seeing is just made up arbitrarily. By definition, the light being sampled is outside the range of colors we can perceive. So this is simply an artistic rendering of an infrared image. The colors could be whatever you want.

it’s false coloured. That is to say certain parts of the infrared spectrum were chosen to look like certain parts of the normal visible light spectrum.

There are also different types of infrared photography in that wider or narrow portions of the infrared spectrum may be captured, and with or without visible light.
